Teens and Rhinoplasty

A rhinoplasty is performed on an outpatient basis under general anesthesia. The surgery takes about 1-2 hours.

The patient will be sent home after surgery with his nose in a guide or some kind of support and packed lightly with a medicated gauze. Any pain will be minimal.

The head should remain elevated for at least 24 hours after the operation, and there will be some bruising and swelling. It may take a few weeks for all the swelling to go down and the redness disappears. However, after considering that you have selected your good plastic surgeon, you should see good results from rhinoplasty.

The results of a nose job are permanent and can only be changed by having additional surgery or "corrective rhinoplasty." This is one reason why it is so important to choose the right surgeon.
