Winter Beauty Tips


Clear or cloudy, the skin is constantly exposed to UV radiation. Reflection of the sun rays are strongest during the year also, 17% in the sand and up to 80% in the snow! It is important to use a moisturizing sunscreen that has a broad spectrum SPF of 15 or higher. Apply to exposed areas that receive the brunt of the force of winter: the face, neck and hands. It will also create a barrier against hostile elements. Natural, non-chemical sunscreens, a "green" alternative to chemical sunscreens is good for your health and our water supply.

The hands are exposed to hot and cold air and frequent hand washing to ward off winter germs. The result: your hands will become dry and cracked. Wear gloves to protect against external cold, dry air and moisture, apply hand lotion before slipping on them. Give the hands of an intense moisturizing treatment at night by applying a cream or lotion and then keep the gloves until morning. For the time not guarantee woolen gloves, sun gloves should be worn to prevent cumulative UV damage.

The lips are very sensitive to the wrath of winter. Besides being constantly exposed to the elements, the skin of the lips is thin and does not produce as much melanin UV protective and other parts of the body. Be sure to use a lip balm that protects against UVA and UVB rays. And be sure to keep it handy, because you want to reapply it frequently.
